 A Story of Faith, Patience & True Devotion

There was once a devotee of Lord Shiva, struggling with job instability, marriage, and the longing for a child.

Someone advised him:
"Observe Monday fasts, visit Shiva temples, offer prayers, donate during Annadan (bhandara), and chant His name with devotion."

He took this to heart and began with full dedication—
🔹 Every Monday, first thing in the morning, he’d visit the temple.
🔹 Offerings like Bel Patra and milk.
🔹 Read the Shiv Puran, chant ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ on his Rudraksha mala.
🔹 Participate in Annadan bhandaras, attend satsangs, sing bhajans...

But even after 21 Mondays, nothing changed. His wish was not fulfilled.

In Kailash...

Parvati, observing his devotion, asked Lord Shiva:
"Why are you not blessing him, Mahadev? He’s been so devoted—seeking stability, marriage, and a child!"

Shiva smiled and replied:
"Parvati, do you truly believe this devotee loves me unconditionally?"

Parvati fell silent.

Shiva continued:
"You are innocent, Parvati. In time, the truth will reveal itself."

Shiva silently delayed the manifestation of the devotee’s desires for one more year.

But within just 3 months, the devotee grew restless.
He stopped visiting the temple,
stopped chanting,
stopped believing.

Parvati understood her mistake and humbly apologized to Shiva.

Then Shiva said:

"Most people don’t love Me — they love their wishes. They get attached to the new — new house, new job, new love, new guru, new temple..."

"But when desires aren't fulfilled, they change everything — their God, their temple, their belief, their family, their priorities..."

"True devotion is unconditional. But humans often lack faith, patience, and consistency. That’s why their manifestations are delayed."

"They blame God, circumstances, gurus, parents… forgetting that the seed needs time, trust, and nurturing to bloom." 🌱

  What is meant by consistency : Any task done daily ...at fixed time - same task with dedication is consistency For example: If you wake up at 5:00 am ...make sure do the same thing at the same time all 365 days That means you are consistent If you do yoga meditation at 6:00 am to 07:00 am ...at the same time all 365 days ...
